Congratulations to our Year 11 pupils who have performed so well in their GCSE and BTEC studies and have attained such an excellent set of results in the new Welsh GCSE qualifications.
Their performance compares favourably with the past two years record breaking performances at GCSE level.
L1 (% 5 A* - G): 99.4%
L2 (% 5 A* - C): 82.6%
L2+ (% 5 A* - C including a Language and Maths): 68.9%
Results for Mathematics, Welsh, English and Science are all above 70% A* - C.
A big thank you to all the staff who have worked tirelessly in ensuring that our pupils are given every opportunity to succeed.
Every individual has a story to tell, but we would like to draw attention to the pupils who attained a remarkable 15 A*s:
Carys Bill, Elinor Hughes and Elin Preest.
The following students have achieved 10 or more A* qualifications. It is worth noting that these pupils represent all our cluster primary schools:
Gwen Williams (14 A*), Gwenllian Evans (12A*), Daniel Clarke (11A*) and Nia Davies (10A*).
We are also extremely proud of the fact that 25% of the year group attained 5 or more A* and A grades.
I am delighted with our A level, BTEC and Welsh Baccalaureate results. Congratulations to all our students for their success which is borne out of ability, endeavour, dedication and perseverance over two long years.
I am particularly proud of the achievements of the whole year group following the loss of one of their peers during the exam period.
Most of our students who applied for Higher Education courses have been accepted to the Universities of their choice, many of which are Russell Group Universities.
The following students received excellent results: Maia Davies (4 A*’s), Beca Daniel (3 A*’s, 1 A), Elis Owain Williams (3 A*’s), Thomas Bowen and Dylan Hughes (2 A*’s, 2A’s).
The results below are our A Level results (Welsh Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications not included).
% A* - A: 36%
%A* - C: 84%
%A* - E: 99%
I am indebted to my staff for preparing their students so well for their A level, Welsh Baccalaureate and BTEC courses and who take so much pride in the achievements of their students.
